I have an onan that most parts already gone (starter, board, exhaust) and wondering before i scrap it if there are parts people want or have a
suggestion for stuff that is worth the space/weight to save for myself. I'm in Raleigh, NC

I could use the choke if it available. Let me know what you want for it.
Thank you.

Tyler,
Do you still have the slides and the four mounting brackets that hold the
donuts?

Emery, I'm moving the choke to the one in the coach, as the electrical closer actually works!

Bruce, I don't have the slides, but do have the rear brackets. I'm keeping the rubber donuts as they are in good shape. PM me here on the forum if
just the rear brackets are worth messing with.

Another contacted me about the carb. The bolt that holds the bowl on is stripped up in the main body. I would like to keep it for a spare myself, has
anyone had success with a heli-coil or something up in that (I presume aluminum) body?

Thanks
Tyler

Tyler,

Hang onto the fly wheel as many have been damaged by mis-handling.
Jim Miller does a lot of successful Onan repair and he may have some interest too.

Tyler,
By the time you drill out and tap for heli-coil you might just want to up
the fastener size to a 5/16"-18

Heli-coil drill is .263" and F drill for 5/16" fastener is 2.57

Those carb bodies are "white metal, or pot metal" mostly a zinc, tin,
antimony, alloy. Not much aluminum present. It is not known for it's long
life or ability to be easily machined. It's main claim to fame is that it
is inexpensive and easily cast by automated machinery.
Soooooo, when you strip a thread in the float chamber which has been
exposed to crapahol gasoline for 30 years, odds are good that your efforts
to restore those threads will be in vain.
Better to find an unstripped one.

Johnny,
Is the alternator the blue lump circle inside the flywheel?

I'm interested in the main alternator hooked to the rear of the engine.

Johnny, I am still confused as to what it is you want. Would it be the
voltage regulator that sits under the fuel pump?
