Bill,

Problem here, the 6500 was an Emerald and not a PowerDrawer. There are manuals on the GMC site, but they might not be for what you have.
Emerald isn't hugely different, but there were changes.

The engine may bear a lot of similarity but there are fundamental differences in the generator section. The PowerDrawer is a stationary field/rotating armature design (== output power is produced in the rotating member) and the Emerald is a rotating field/stationary armature (==output power comes from the non-rotating member). The Emerald also has multiple windings in the armature which gives greater output voltage flexibility and instead of a flywheel alternator for battery charging/controls feedback like the NH, the Emerald incorporates that function into the generator section.

Engine controls and voltage regulation in the generator are also going to be different from the PowerDrawer.
