Morning,

the keeper of my 26' Eleganza is currently doing some work in the heat
of Virginia, and wanted to run the A/C off of the gen. The generator
started, ran a few minutes, A/C gets turned on, a few minutes later,
when the compressor should come on, the generator dies. Since then, the
generator no longer comes up. It still cranks strong, but no longer starts.

Any hints/tips are greatly appreciated. Oil is in (from last year), gas
is in.

Fuel tank supply is too low. The siphon tube in the rear fuel tank does not
go all the way to the bottom of the tank. When the fuel level is too low,
the Onan cannot pick up fuel from the tank. This prevents you from running
out of fuel and not being able to move the motor home.

As my mail is not getting through it seems:

Two days ago 65 gal were put in. not much driving other than to the gas
station and back. Onan ran 3 hours yesterday without a hitch (and
without the A/C).

He will drive to the gas station again, just to top up.

Peer, the maximum fill capacity of a GMC with stock fuel tanks is 50 u.s.
gallons. Does your coach have an extra fuel tank? Your Onan could also be
low on oil, it has a shut off when that occurs as well. You could also have
a bad electric fuel pump. Also, it could be something wrong with the
ignition system. Check for spark at the plugs.

He needs to determine what is missing. Fuel or ignition. More than likely it is fuel. Once he determines what is missing we can go after that.
Also check the oil level as the Onan will shut down if the oil is low.
