While researching for the presentation I am giving at the upcoming GMCWS Coos Bay, OR, rally on how to run your Onan on gasoline or propane at the flip of one toggle switch, I came across a TECUMSEH CARBURETOR 631828 that looks for all the world like a clone of our Onan carb but costs just $25. I have not used one personally, so can’t be sure it is the same, but it looks to me like with a minor modification to the throttle and choke linkage this might be far better, easier and cheaper than trying to rebuild what you have.

Johnny,

Try Amazon for 18.99+shipping

There might be some challenges to adapting.

OK, I got one on the way. I have a Yamamamamaha set without carb, it might fit there as well. For fifteen bux I'll find out.

Thanks!

Got it. Interestingly, on the top of the housing on the idle screw side there's a flat in the casting which had the maker's name or the part number.
I can't tell which.... because it's been freshly ground off. It looks identical to the one on the chinese set I put in my 23' cvoach
superficially. I'm not gonna pull it out to see exactly. The intake side looks about the same as the Onan, if the holes match it will run the Onan.
You'd need a couple of drills and taps and some machhine screws to modify the choke and throttle bellcranks, but it looks to be eminently do-able.
I'm outa here for a week and some, I'll do some measurements when I get back.
