The lever that links the choke to the temperature sensor is missing and there's a black wire nearby that looks like it might have been cut.

Anyone have a spare one of these levers and/or can tell me where the black wire goes??

That's another thing I have to check out on my generator. On mine that wire is a heater when cranking it over. 8o

Larry,

Before you get very far, does the lever on the choke operator move?
If it does not, it is a new and bigger problem.
I have a NH unit in my barn with that problem and it has defied all my efforts to make it move. The exhaust manifold might have to come off for me to
work on it more.

I thought the choke had a 12v solenoid in it to close the choke all the way when starter is engaged then releases when started and a thermal spring
takes over to open at operating temp? Most trouble I run into is it losing ground thru rusty manifold attachment. A test wire with alligator clips
to test ground.

The genset runs like a top, no problems, just have to choke it manually ATM

Link it to propane and you will not need the choke

I know nothing about propane (yet) so modifying the genny is far down the list ...let me figure out if there's any propane in the tank first and
secondly how to operate the oven, cooktop and fridge all of which are brand new with the cardboard packing in place.

Baby steps round here, only just figured out water system :d Owner for one week as of today!

The choke does indeed have a 12v solenoid. If I'm reading the manual correctly, it's a sort of electromagnet that pulls the off as the choke as the
genny warms up. I think Onan refer to it as the "thermostatic pull-off".
In my picture posted above, the pull-off and the cap it lives in is missing.
The complete automatic choke assembly is a 2 piece affair (see pic JimK sent me last week).

I need the end part and contents
