Onan 6000 Electric Choke

I need help with a carburetor for the ONAN 6000. Mechanic took it apart and cleaned it but now says it just needs to be replaced. He also says I need the electric fuel pump and air cleaner. Air cleaner was easy to find but where do I look for the other items?

Thanks,

Most everything needed is sourced from https://www.gmcrvparts.com Applied GMC. I found other items at various online sellers and on eBay. But it requires the Parts Manual and finding the superceding p/n for any given item. Sirum GMC is also a good parts source, but you have to call - no online sales. The guys on here will know better.

Dia,

I wonder about your mechanic. That carburetor is a Walboro LMB and if the throttle shaft is worn out then yes, it has to be replaced, but on an NH generator that is usually several thousand hours. The fuel pump is nothing special except that it is low pressure. It can be disassembled and cleaned and the contact point polished and it will go back to work.

And yes, the good suppliers at Applied and Sirum can get you any thing and the right anything on the first try.

You can use just about any low pressure (2-5 psi) fuel pump for the Onan. Mine previously had a Carter 4070 (I believe). I replaced it with a little cube style fuel pump when the Carter died. Interestingly I found Aircraft Spruce had the best price on the fuel pump.
