Just got back from our local Omaha gathering. What a great turnout...
hosted by John Nepper. Had 11 coaches and about 2 dozen folks show up. Got
together to discuss the coaches and happenings (like my coach going on
vacation to Florida w/o me...). Got about two dozen nice digital pictures I
gave to Ed Hatter to post to his web site. I'm sure Ed will let us know when
they are up.
It all ended a bit early due to the ever changing Nebraska weather (80
and crystal blue yesterday and rainy and about 60 today). Got to meet alot
of the people that have or that I have emailed via the web and we toured all
the coaches. Even drew the attention of the local constable on his Harley
(seems he wants to get one too)!
Over all we had a great time. Chuck Kokesh showed a Toronado hub and
knuckle assembly and how it would come apart since we all need to know this
sooner or later. He even showed the latest in carbon metallic brake shoes.
Got to see the layout of all the different coaches, newest enhancements and
got to put names with their faces. Since I am new have never attended a GMC
meet this was a real treat. Looking forward to FC and meeting with Jim
Bounds.
