I'm wondering if perhaps the answer on restrictors is -if one has a
Mondello oil pump, then maybe one needs to have the restrictors, as I
think his pump puts out a lot more pressure than a stock one
does.Someone mentioned a long time ago that at idle ,Joe M recomends
35-45 lbs. pressure, whereas the GMC Maintance Manual says normal idle
is 7psi and 1500-3000 RPM its 35PSI. Rather large differences in the
figures, but maybe if one is racing that sort of pressure is needed I'd
presume. Would it be reasonable to assume that with a stock pump one
does not need restrictors, but with a Mondello one , one does require
it? I don't know just asking?
