Thank you for the warning - I know this is a big job.

the oil pan to check the oil pump on a GMC,......"
I asked Tom about replacing the oil pump since I'll have the pan off anyway
to replace the rear main seal. I used
" High Oil Pressure - Oil Pump? " in the subject line, I'm afraid that
caused some confusion - sorry.
