This is only a guess but if your oil maybe coming from your valve cover its
not to big of a problem and sometimes we look at in different way because
the oil is moved by air flow like tom said if it is on the inside of
coverter probley a seal if itis on the outside then take a closer look maybe
a little RTV what do you think tom my opinion for the record if it needs
to pull the motor then @ 100000 i would conciding a overhal but looking
ahead (PRICE) dosent always say that you are getting you up the road , New
Hamphire GMCHI member comes in with a knock in his motor 3nd motor one year
1st2 was somebuddy that new nothing 3nd motor Winterfelt thats pricey THINK

>"Just a SWAG but sounds like the PO tried to stop this leak before by use
of RTV on the pan without removing the final drive. Could be the pan is
still the source of the leak. Please take this as just friendly help--I am
not an
engineer, or mechanic. Just an ole FIX IT handy man and not too handy at
that!!!

Jerry,

Looking at your "Golden Goose" you must be pretty good at something,
beautiful coach! (-:

Osburn's in Albuquerque replaced transmission and final drive 5000 miles
ago, but according to their bill they didn't touch anything else - who
knows!
I sure hope the rear main seal and new pan gasket stop the leak - we'll know
next weekend.

Thanks for your input!
