Netters,

Is there a replacement available for the oil cooler adaptor? It appears
that mine may be finished. The threads on one of the outlets are not
deep enough to seal properly. I'm considering using JB Weld, but...

I notice that Jegs has one listed for GM V8(771-185) that looks
similar. One difference is that the outlets are 3/8" FPT instead of
1/2".

Any other ideas?

Well, since there's a place for the oil filter without it, IMO it's an
oil cooler adaptor.

Remove the oil filter and use a 1-1/4" socket to remove the adaptor
"extension"(that's what the book calls it). Lower the adaptor and
remove the "O" ring. Replace it with the one from the filter you just
removed. Put the adaptor back in place and insert extension. Tighten
extension and torque to 55 ftlb. Replace filter and you're done.

Lanier,

Doesn't matter what you call it - make sure you change the gasket!
Seriously, my oil...adaptor wasn't leaking (yet), but the gasket that came
out of there was so hard it broke apart in my hands!
