Oil cooler lines

Ive been having a slight oil leak under my coach . I got under there and everything had a light coating of oil . Cleaned everything off trying to
find the source. I suspect the flexible section of the oil cooler lines so i want to replace them. What are the size and type of the fittings at the
radiator and where they meet the hard lines? Any other recommendations would be very helpful

Jeff,

Oil leaks can be a bear to track down. And yes, oil ends up everywhere.
Before you do anything rash, get a can of brake parts cleaner and another can of spray powder - either foot spray or deodorant. The fittings often
leak and can stopped by just making up a little harder. If the line is leaking, there is nothing to do but replace it. If it is an OE line, the end
fittings are reusable. If you can find a shop in Portland that does hydraulics, they can take those lines and "re-hose" them.

I happen to like the JR lines a lot and so have them now. With the cost of the rebuilt engine, that was just noise.

I had the same leak for thousands of miles before I could track it down.
Got single piece replacement lines from JimK and the problem seems to be solved!

The 403 had single piece lines and the 455 has 2 piece for some reason. I prefer the single piece as it's one less place to leak! To put the single on
the 455 you just need a couple of angled adapters coming out of the filter housing.

The reason the 455 has two pieces is because part of it passes very close to the exhaust manifold and will burn through. GM’d two part line consisted of a steel line and a flexible line from that to the radiator oil cooler. A few years back the steel portion of mine rusted through and I replaced it with JR’s stainless solid tube with a stainless braided attached flexible hose. It has worked well for many years now.

When I did mine last fall - I needed to buy a 3/4"x7/8" flare wrench. I
seem to recall it was the 7/8" that I used/needed (but it was over six
months ago!)...

There are NO metrics used on the GMC MH unless so one did it.

So all is back together and working well
Remove everything from radiator back to adapter seemed like the fitting on the hoses were really really lose, hoses looked brand new. Put in new
gasket at adapter changed oil filter and re torqued all fittings running dry now. Wrestled with replacing hoses while they were out but couldn't wait
with the forth coming up plus hoses did look great after I degooked them . Things are shaping up
