I think there is a lot of reversion due to no shroud and a round blade circle in a "square" hole. Thinking of making some clear plexi pieces to create
a fan shroud. Would have to leave some space around the speed drop resistor for cooling. Can always upgrade, but I like original cuz they ain't makin
any more in Pontiac.

The biggest influence to operational cooling on my 77 was the replacement
of the missing original air baffles between the grill and condenser (if no
ac it would be the radiator). I had a brand new copper brass radiator,long
block, water pump etc and had no cooling issues while stationary no matter
the outside temp. Idle in traffic for days and it would sit right at 170.
Once underway however my temps would creep. Especially on the highway. It
was not unusual for me to see temps around 200 on the highway which would
make me nervous. I drove it this way all the way from Washington state into
Northern California. Once there I bought some 1/4” plywood and borrowed my
brother in laws jig saw and cut out some crude baffles. Problem solved,
coach would get up to 180-190 and no further no matter what speed over 50
or outside temps. Cost of fix, about $16

I had just bought a new tig welder and was looking for a project. Overkill for sure, but it works great. Motor is a $10 amazon motor. Had to make a
sleeve to increase the armature diameter. It actually works better than the original motor in the other vent. Quieter and draws less current. Had
to balance the fan. Did this by putting on a flat surface and measuring each blade front and back and bending blades until they were all close to the
same.
