Before I got rid of that hard-to-make-up bed back there, mine was built
from 3/4" plywood and the gauchos were removed. Strong, simpler to cut
and to place if you cut into 3 pieces lengthwise.

Yes, it is much more comfortable than the fold down, hump laden seats but
the new twins up front are heaven!
