When you plug the crossover, you will need to go to an electric choke.
There are two kinds:
* Some are just a choke heater that most wire into the alternator output.
* Some come with a switch that you are instructed to mount someplace that exposes it to engine temperature.
I have the first. It has been very effective.
We are all glad to hear that you are approaching this the way you are. By doing the preventive work now, you will have a much lower chance of waiting
for help to arrive on the side of the road.
