NOT GMC-Airplanes / GMC-Airplane Rally?

Bob,

A few years ago they flew in a Connie for the air show up here in Aspen - it
looked BIG ! I still think it's one of the most beautiful planes ever built.
Since a lot of us seem to be into airplanes, why not have a GMC (mini) Rally
at the Pima County Air Museum in Arizona? What a fascinating place - my wife
hates it, though!

I agree with your "one of the most beautiful planes ever built" comment. But
what a mechanical monster it was/is! Not a whole lot of fun to fly. It sure
felt safe though, with all that power and redundant systems piled on top of
redundant systems. And a flight engineer to remember how all those systems
worked!

Your suggestion of a Rally at the Pima County Air Museum sounds good to me,
but I think I also lose my wife on this one. Maybe it becomes a spouse
optional rally coordinated by John Nepper to coincide with when he sends his
wife to Hawaii ;-)

Pete....good idea...even my wife would go for that....have 22,000 hrs in
dc-3,martin 404,f-27,fh227,dc-9,md80,83...retired twa and presently fly 7ac
and b-33....get something cookin....

Jim wroteete....good idea...even my wife would go for that....have 22,000

Bob, Jim, GMCers,

Why not add another "spouse optional" event - a race at the Phoenix track
(PIR?) ( I'd love to go to the "Michigan 500" mini rally, but that would be
a LONG drive from CO!) Maybe someone closer to the Phoenix / Tucson area
could look into that as I'm not familiar with the facilities down there.
BTW, I'm not a pilot, I just like airplanes and racecars, I guess - and a
trip to the desert is always fun after a Colorado winter! I think even my
wife could be talked into that!
