Jerry got my Norcold refrigerator today. What a surprise as JC Whitney could
not tell me when it would be shipped. All they knew was that it had been
shipped as of yesterday since Norcold would have notified them.
Surprise! Norcold shipped it on 1/10/2000. It is indeed a Norcold N641-R
propane/AC refrigerator contrary to what JC Whitneys catalog says. Very
nicely constructed and much more room than the old one.
I was disappointed in the black door panels I ordered. They come in two
sheets neither of which fits the doors. They have to be cut to fit.

The refrigerator was shipped by roadway express, 139# and packed very well.
I received a call from Roadway about noon and they wanted to know where I
wanted it delivered. Told them to the address on the shipping document. They
read off my house address and told me that the freight cost was $59.40.
Sounded OK to me. Than he asked me if my address was a house and I replied
it was. He than told me there was an additional $47 fee for delivery to a
house. OK said I deliver it to my garage in town. We can do that says the
roadway agent. Thats a reconsignment and costs $39.75. Where is it says I.
Syracuse NY says he. I will come and pick it up within 2 hours is that OK.
Yes he says. Bring someone with you says he for we cant help you load it.
And by the way it weighs 139 I will be there says I. Went to syracuse,
paid the freight, picked up the refrigerator and put it in my station wagon
and drove off while the dock workers watched.

Dont know how much it costs yet since JC Whitney has not charged my credit
card yet.

Hope all dealings with JC Whitney are not this labor intensive and time
consuming.

Bottom line I got it though.

Well, my installation was a PITA. Had to make new cabinetry for the side to
close a gap, new back to close off the "chimney," new side to close the
compartment off from the coach, new wiring, new propane line, a propane
"exit hole" and probably a few more things that I can't remember.

Sorry I didn't document the installation in pictures.

All things considered, I love the 3-way.

Will try and take pictures of it and the suburban installation to

A good point. My first coach is a Palm Beach with 12V/110V original fridge
that I replaced. The second coach is a Royale that still has the original
2-way installed. The fit in the Royale should be better since you won't
have to close up so much stuff.

Snip.........
new back to close off the "chimney," .

Is this the baffle that is req'd to ensure air flow is over the coils? My
fridge's performance improved dramatically when the baffle was
reinstalled after the PO had removed it for some reason.

That's it.
