Al -- Thanks. There are two Duo-therm 15,000 models. One is a heat
pump and the other is their regular Brisk Air model. I do not want
the heat pump model as it doesn't put out heat below 40 degrees. I
just want the air conditioner.
By the way, if anyone wants to add the electric heat strip to their
NorCold, Camping World, at camping
world.com is having a special
right now on that strip at $10.00. It usually is about $60.00. They
also have a $1.00 shipping charge special on internet orders right
now.
I retrofitted the NorCold 5600 btu heat strip to my original Norcold
GMC air conditioner a few years ago. It will retrofit but you would
need a different switch from Norcold which has the heater position.
This is much nicer than carrying a space heater around and also
safer. If you are parked at a campground with electricity in the
winter it saves on propane and is quieter than the furnace. I do
still carry my little "cube" heater along though.
