The TP-45 type ignition module does not control advance and
changing the module should have little effect on the timing
or ping, if the module is to spec.

Absolutely, the springs and weights as well as the vacuum
control how much and when ping. If you want less pings when
the throttle is applied you want the vacuum control to
react more quickly (the vacuum control retards the timing
as you apply throttle) an adjustable Vacuum control is
available under the ACCEl brand for HEI distributors.

Is the NAPA (TP45) or the Delco
(1875990) module any better than the
other?

I would like to apologize to the rest of the group for this last bit of
turmoil. Patrick is right. It should have been completely off net.

've determined that the problem with my Onan is the leaky (leak hell---it
sprays!) oil pressure sender.

Would someone tell me the generic equivalent? I recall a NAPA number
having
been circulated, but don't know where to find it now.

Travis,
I had to replace mine but I'm pretty sure I got it from an Onan dealer.
That was only part of the problem. The biggest leak came from where the
engine mount bracket mounts between the engine oil filter adapter and the
engine. I made my own gaskets, belt snaded the bracket flat, put the
thing back together and it hasn't leaked a drop in 40 hours of operation.
It's a rinky-dink set up but it can be made to seal up.
HTH,
Steve

Billy,

How 'bout some short 9/16 x 20(?) bolts through the rest of the holes from
the back of the wheel? Unless they are hard to find. Just a thought...

Please include me in your headcount for the rechroming
of bumpers. I would opt to redo all four sections.
