Non-Yamaha BWS (aka Zuma) 50

What's the chances yall might get something with bigger diameter tyres before you bust your collective tuchus on a curb or pothole? :)

The BWS ("Big Wheel Scooter") has very wide tires (120mm front and 130mm
rear) relative to their diameter that are better than my BMW GS for
absorbing surface irregularities! No issues with any curb (and the
occasional ditch!).

My current scooter has larger diameter wheels (16", tall & skinny) that
are no where near as good as my old BWS were for the rough stuff...

The height of the axle off the ground determines how high an obstacle the scoot will go over as opposed to stopping abruptly and (usually) busing
something.

Of course - but the height of the front axle is quite often directly
proportional to the angle of the throttle!

As long as you can live with the limited upper speed of the BWS 2 strokes
(which we couldn't), they are amazing little machines - basically a street
legal mini-bike... I still miss the ones I've owned.

But I doubt the people that camped near me miss it - it was VERY loud...
Think angry Swede with a Huskavarna.

Fun to rip around on (size & the 2-stroke make you feel you're going MUCH faster than you are). The reason I got it is to pack on the back of the
coach (weight) if I need to do a milk run while camping, and only if I was planning on staying in one spot more than a few days. My Piaggio mp3 250
and Burgman 400 get me around pretty well on the highways. Wish I could pack that mp3 and not risk lifting my front wheels off the ground if I
carried more than a half-tank of water & my BBQ in the back :?
I don't do off-roading, so clearance really isn't a major factor. Any pot-hole big enough to cause a problem, would be a problem no matter WHAT I was
riding.
