Jim,

Please to not take offense with this. I have a real personal problem with visiting a former enemy. Probably because of my involvement with this
particular one, the fact that we lost to them, and they are in still in control today.

That said, I have visited Japan, Germany, China, and South Korea in the past and would do so again. I would never consider going to North Korea or
Vietnam. We were taught or learned on our own to hate the enemy, the fighting and enemy for me was going on in Vietnam and Korea but not the rest of
the above counties.

All of that said, I have a good friend who goes to Vietnam every second year. His wife is Vietnamese.

I realize we have made amends with them over the past 40 years. It just does not set right with me to go there.

I once sat in a presentation by Paul Tibbets (pilot of Enola Gay) and he was asked how he felt about Japan today. His response was "every time I see
one of the Japanese cars on our roads I was to head right for it".

Enjoy your trip, see and visit a lot, and please do not take this posting personally. I just could not do it.

Ken, I totally understand and take no offense. We spend most of our time with medical
first responders' training and conducting free medical clinics with the Pa Co 'Yards who sided
with us and then we left behind to face the music. This is a American Vietnam Vets'group that has been do this
for 23 years (Vets with a Mission).

The one I have a problem with is Hanoi Jane. Every time she'd visit our Atlanta studios severalof us, me included, would leave the poremises. Now
it's over and done with, we learned that Asian thought and values are so different from Western one we didn't have any business there. >Now

In a few words," Vietnam Sucks now as bad as it did then." Between bullets
and politics and agent orange, I lost a whole bunch of friends there and
here. People like J.F. don't deserve the ink, or electrons. That part of
the world is not the same as ours. Nor are the inhabitants. Except for the
'yards.
