Bob - you are really bringing back a lot of memories. I grew up in a
little town in southwestern Michigan. When I was in high school,
about 16, I used to go over to a friend's house some evenings to play
ping pong, chess, and poker with some other guys. My friend's dad
had a beer refrigerator and we could help ourself. He kept two kinds
of Sebewaing. There were ducks on the labels. I believe the better
one had a gold label and I think the ones that we could have were
either a red or green label. We were not allowed to have the gold
label one. That was for his Dad only!

Not a bad beer if I recall.

Emery,
You're right about the ducks on the labels. Those old bottles have become
quite a collectors item. My grandfather used to drink the beer. He said it
had an old world taste. He immigrated directly from the old country and I
remember he drinking his Sebewaing beer and forcing me to eat Sweet Potatoes
with him. Nice to know someone still remembers the old brewery and its
beer. Myself I got introduced to E&B beer by the Polish farmers up here
during the haying season. It was cheap and came in 16 ounce bottles. More
bang for the buck they told me.
