I know this is not on topicBUT---
Today I lost one of my last remaining heros.
Clayton Moore---THE LONE RANGER -- passed away today
HIYO SILVER AWAAAAY!!!!!!!!!
Jerry

What about a little more contemporary but still noteworthy. James Bond,
Capt. James T. Kirk, International Rescue. All worthwhile heroes in some
degree.

Jerry,
Had the very same feeling. This gettin' older is a bummer -- until one
considers the alternative.

Never mind!

I found a CD of some of the old Lone ranger radio broadcasts for $1.00
while I was in Branson last June and really enjoyed listening to Clayton
Moore and Jay Silverheels.

Thanks for the memories, Clayton! and to you Jerry for the news.

No, he waved his arms at the bad guys while dodging THEIR bullets.
And swore at them in French -- so the kids in the audience couldn't
understand what he was saying...

I recently purchased a set of Lone Ranger audio tapes from Sam's Club. One of
them is the original broadcast of the first radio program. Some will hurriedly
call me a sentimental fool (I won't object), but I had tears in my eyes when I
listened to those tapes, and again, later, when I heard of his demise.

BTW, do you know who played the Lone Ranger on radio? A hint: his first name was
Brace. Jay Silverheels was his faithful Indian companion, also.

"From out of the West come the thundering hoofbeats of the great horse, Silver.
The Lone Ranger rides again."

Oh yes, he did use guns; but always shot to wound.
