The interstate interchange in Albuquerque where I-40 and I-25 cross is
under a major reconstruction. Traffic has at times today been backed up
over 9 miles!!!
Go to www.kobtv.com for details including bypass maps if your travels bring
you thru our state. This is gonna be going on for the next 24 months. A
$270,000,000 project. As I am writing this they just had a car drive off a
bridge that was demolished just last night. Appears no one hurt. Can you
believe that!!!!
Hope this may be useful to anyone planning to go thru Albuquerque in the
future.

PS Durango is only 20 days away

Jerry,
Sure am glad I made it through in May. {:>) It was bad enough then, but no
major backups like you describe.

The rest of the story is that work crews were at the site tearing off
the bridge decking and two guys decided to crash thru barrier signs
and see if they could jump the gap in the deck with their car
estimated to be going 50 mph. The driver was arrested for DWI.
Their car fell 25 feet into a pile of dirt. Only minor injuries.
This was shown on the local TV news as a TV crew was there reporting
on the start of this two year construction project.

Only thing better would be to see a GMC going for this new record.
Any volunteers?
