No Vapor Lock this trip

So with recent 195 Flowkooler Stat (see other post) and the carb ore heat connected, not one hint of vapor lock Never needed to hit Aux selector and
pump. This indicates with a hot carb in the mix that it should not be blamed for vapor lock. My theory has always been it happens before or in the
mechanical pump. Perhaps Summer blend E10 is why no issues. Thank you EPA!

John I have been filling up with non ethanol and find that it cures vapor lock and gives you better gas mileage .

That is true and it is nice, but when traveling it is often hard to locate real gasoline and if you can the price difference is usually not cost
effective. I tracked EoH% of fuel and fuel rate religiously for years until I finally admitted it was a lost cause.

Not too practical looking for non ethanal.
Even nonehanol will form a vapor loc so best to be prepared.

Yep. I get $.10 off at BP and have had no issues with Shell 87 E10. Usually buy on price and easy in and out as Pilot and TA often lower. The one
time I bought a tank of E0 in Amana because it was right there at the fair grounds I got light spark knock. Better to keep eyes on road than looking
at Gas Buddy and crashing. My point was that even with 115F or so entering carb no issues so wondering if summer blend helps (it should)

Non ethanol (called 'boat gas') is easy to find around here, but as you go West it gets harder and harder. Here's the best way to find

First ten pics in the album. Didn't change any of the existing hoses, capped the selector and used a threaded bayonet for the mechanical pump inlet
line. You could return to stock by the highway in 30 minutes and a mechanical pump if you wanted. Run the pump power to the relay through a safety
switch, and replace the supplied filters with Wix replacements.

I use the pure gas free web site just takes a little planning . You’ll see these engines run better without Ethanol in the gas .

Mine runs better on E10. I find the ethanol slows burning enough to kill pinging so I can run more timing than with E0, probably an even trade for
less calories in E10.

Mine runs just fine on E10, but with the fuel rate reduce by the percentage of ethanol.
