The insallation instructions that GOA sent me were wrong. The new
instructions work OK. Keep in mind that GOA does not recommend or support
the nicad battery charge feature og the RIM solution - they say it has bugs
- - RIM says it works. The effective transfer rate is less than 9600 bps. The
major downside of Mobitex during transmission is the retry frequency. It
depnds alot on where you are as to the real data rate. OTOH, http access
works fine, as does POP.

telnet, ftp and stock email progs. Enables me to get email off my own IMAP
server. I only have important email forwarded to my goa mailbox, like
gmcnet, etc
All the important stuff ;>
Mobitex DOES NOT support IMAP - a major dissapointment for me.

It looks feasible, but I need to get the equipment down in cost etc. I'll
keep you posted once I have a working lower cost system.
