If I'm not mistaken, Frank Folkmann, who is less than a hundred miles E of you in
Princeton IN, recently had his dinette seats reupholstered in Louisville. He is
probably in bed by now though, but is a very early riser. Hopefully he'll respond
to you in the morning.

Well, its on to the next project. Took the dinette out tonight. I would like
to hear some thoughts on what I should do. Should I refurbish this old one or
buy
a new one? What does a new one cost? How much is a good price to
have one recovered and new foam put in? I remember somebody maybe
Al raised his 4 inches. Seems like a lot but I am willing to listen. Any
other numbers out there as to how high I should go? Right now I am on
a crash course to get this lady on the road so I wont be doing a lot of
fancy stuff just yet.

Next set of questions. I am going to put down 1/4 inch exterior Luan
plywood before I put down the flooring. Is there anything I should not
cover up? I will screw it down so I can get it back up if nessary but
would like to know.

Next I plan to put down tile--you know the peel and stick type. Has
anybody done this or know anybody that has? Tile can have a surface
almost 8 times as hard as sheet goods. That I want. My sob has taught
me I dont want carpet. Guess I am a slob. Carpet requires almost as
much maintaince as a Le Sharo. Has anybody added adhesive to the
peel and stick tile? Anybody know if the tile will curl with time and the
temperatures that our ladies have to endure? Any help will be
welcomed.

I installed my dinnette in the back (aft) and put two couches up front
that became our twin beds. Now we can spend time aft enjoying the view
out the big picture window.

In the galley, we installed the small wood parquet tiles. It takes exactly
two boxes (20 sf, IIRC. We used something like liquid nails to bond it.
As you already know..anything is better in the galley than carpeting!

Of course, the wood won't curl. I don't imagine the tile would either. I
never feel any heat in the galley area. I have seen wood installed
thru-out but felt it looked like a bowling alley and assumed it was
likely to be a little noise.

In our coach a previous owner took out the dinette (#3 floor plan) and
replaced it with swivel rockers with arms and one of those collapsible
tables from Camping World.
We hate it, The area between the passenger seat and the door is just to
short to accommodate this setup as you lose the seating that is part of the
step in front of the engine compartment behind passenger seat .We are unable
to put our legs under the table because of the stand holding table up , the
chairs arms won't go under the table because of the dropdown leaves. I
removed the leaves but now the table is so narrow two plates won't fit on
top.
Keep your Dinette.

I wish excess body weight could be removed as easy as removing the table
leaf.
I would order one today.

Here are my comments just to cloud the issue a little bit for you.

I just removed the dinnette from my '77 Royale with the twin beds in
rear. I plan to instal a small square wood parquet floor. I also
removed the 2x4 raised area in dinnette seating. The reason was this:
in our model, the dinnette leaves very litttle room to move around ---
there was only about 12 inches between corner of seat and the stove
accross the way. If you get the right swivel rockers and the appropriate
table you should have plenty of room to use the table OK. We also plan
to cut the kitchen in half a put a love seat behind the driver. This
should make the whole area look a lot roomier and give you room to walk
around in. Our kitchen is too big; don't need a four-burner stove with
oven, double sink, and large microwave. We don't go camping to cook a
lot.
