Hello all, just wanted to pop in to introduce ourselves as we are now the owners of a 1976 26'
My name is Darryl and my girlfriend, Sheren, just purchased our first motorhome from Carl Harr in Alberta, Canada.
She works in healthcare and I'm a fulltime industrial maintenance tech and hobby fine woodworker.
Our GMC comes fully gutted but in pretty good mechanical condition. It lived life as a mobile auction house office, so it seems to be very low mileage, and already comes equipped with a fleet of port-facing loudspeakers that betray future aspirations as a party machine.
My first job will be to bring it mechanically up to par and get it papers, then I will begin the journey of removing all of the previous aftermarket work to familiarize myself with the machine, and finally begin building the interior (I have swathes of beautiful-grained hardwoods that will bring this to the next level)
I expect to be living here on these forums full time for the next two years, and I hope to get to know you all and learn from your collective wisdom and experience. As such, I am willing and able to start collecting whatever knowledge you'd like to share starting now. In return, I promise to showcase every ounce of woodworking, electrical and tech skills I can possibly manage to do this old girl justice.
Thank you!
