hello all, our coach now has no stripes, we dont mind the understated look (I kinda like it anyway) but came across this image:tiki.stripe.webp

we dont really want another original Eleganza brown stripe but thought this might look good on our tan/beige/cream original color paint job. (without the woodgrain)

anyone here know where we might find a vinyl guy that could cut out some vinyl in the original sizes except in a different color then perhaps another overlay cut with a white that has various patterns like the tiki or a mayan aztec, or a celtic.

something like these:

or maybe even prints like these last two but those are probably too costly and I imagine printed ones dont hold up well in the sun?

actually think the tiki GMC artist has the right idea. maybe something a little less intricate, perhaps like the top graphic but even less intricate. still looking around here https://www.123rf.com/stock-photo/hawaii_shirt.html?oriSearch=hawaii&sti=nh5bc4io7cy0chyveh| for simple patterns.

the top graphic is the best so far but still too busy IMO. when I find what just Im looking for I may try to photoshop (w/Gimp2) it onto a photo my coach and see how it looks but Im no expert with that stuff. could probably figure it out though. just imagine all of the above two tone ones except in white over whatever color base stripe. make sense?

mainly just wanted to ask here what others have done or if anyone knows anyone that can cut the original pieces but from different colors and possibly add a white insert. we've been looking at gmcmhphotos.com for ideas and this color coach looks good with blue stripes and also green ones. the orange and yellow ones on the crestmonts is not bad either and we've seen replica Eleganza II stripes on there also.

any and all other ideas on the topic also welcome. thanks

hi Christo, checked out that link, seems to be just the smaller graphics there but I will give them a ring. thanks

My recommendation is to stop in at your city transit facility and talk to the service manager or the person in charge of advertising. City transit buses get whole vehicle wraps regularly......those are the guys you need to do this for you as they work in big size and there vinyl machine can make those size decals easily.

I really like that drawing.....the stance, wheels etc are awesome! Id love to see the rest of it.

I am drawn to the faux woodgrain like a moth to a flame - and yet horrified and offended by it. If I had the disposable cash I would make all sorts of bad decisions...

LOLOL! All that’s missing is a vinyl Landau roof.
Joe, thanks for the laugh this morning. I couldn’t have said it better. I use to point and laugh at it but now I’m willing to pay top dollar to find the wood grain inserts to my 1972 F250...a 4x4 pick up truck with faux wood grain! ?

Photoshop has saved me so much money over the years...glad to know an underappreciated skill at work has applications at home.

The woodgrain photo is heavily edited, of one of three paint schemes I am currently considering, with the faux woodgrain added on top. Sadly, it is not real.

This is the current state of the paint. Yellow and Brown. I am sure it was hot stuff to someone, but I am just not a yellow/brown kind of guy.

and one of the options:

I don't know cost yet - depends on how much I do myself.

I'm thinking the woodgrain could be done pretty cheap with vinyl wrap, and some artful application, and manipulation, of vinyl trim used for homes as the borders. Don't get me started...

I like the white and gray ( I assume it’s gray and not taupe). I think it’s a timeless combination I currently have a white Avion that has the typical “late 90s” Rose and Forest Green green after market stripes. I’ve started removing the stripe and trying to figure out which way I want to go with new stripes. Gray would be a good option.

Please tell me you did the family truckster! Can you imagine this and then also adding a Vista Cruiser window up top?!
LOL, no, just photoshop. But, I am convinced ideas like this is why I will never be allowed to win the lottery.

Oh man that first pic is killer. I'm getting ready for paint.. I may have to rethink and go with a Tiki Vibe!
