Well folks,
We finally had a break in work so that Irene and I could drive up to San
Rafael and pick up our Royale. For those who don't recall, this coach is
the result of taking the remains of two coaches - one damaged by fire
donated the drive train while the other provided the chassis.
We had a mostly uneventful 125 mile drive back to Santa Cruz. High winds in
San Francisco were interesting as we crossed the Golden Gate Bridge, but
the coach handled quite well. Engine is a Winterfeldt with 20k mi, same on
the transmission, and 3.42 final drive. Coach took the hills like a champ.
The only "problem" encountered was a belt squeal that developed around 60MPH.
Now I need to put a genset in, rework some interior wiring, fix the radio,
clean up the drip rails and do something about the blinds.
DAVE: your TZE number is 267V100427. Coach now carries a salvaged title due
to the engine swap situation (coach purchased w/o engine).
