It was in the paint shop for three week, but I told them they had all
winter, so they worked it in between other jobs (cheap inside storage).
They probably could have finished in a week.
They sanded and painted the top first. The A/C shroud was missing most of
the gel coat and down to the fiberglass is some spots. They put several
coats to cover that. Next time I would probably just get a new shroud, but
with a 16 year old A/C unit, I thought I would just wait for it to quit and
just get a whole new unit.
Once the top was done, they masked it off to work on the rest. This was a
DuPont enamel paint. The colors are a GM white and GM blue metallic strip
with a 1/4" gold 3M pinstripe around the blue.
The painted the stripes first (after the top), then mask them off to paint
the white.
