We're currently at 140 members(77 real time and 63 digest) and growing.
The list is definitely healthy and we're seeing some really good
information flowing.

One minor drawback, is that GMC Motorhome Mailing List, while
descriptive, is a bit of a mouthfull and doesn't contain much in the way
of identity. What do ya'll think of "GMCnet" as a name for our
little(but growing) group?

I suspect with GMCnet, we may get some subscribers that are expecting
something else. Not that I have anything better to suggest...

I think that "motorhome" in the name is better than not...

"GO BIG RED" even though my motorhome is green!

I suspect we would get some of the "Good Ol Boys GMC pickup truck" crowd
by mistake with that name, nice try though.

GMCMHnet 260net (course that would be slighting the 23ft owners)

After seeing several other member comments, I've
reconsidered and agree that to include some reference to the
motorhome would be an advantage. Maybe GMCmhome. or any
other shortened version that brings in the motorhome idea
would help.

Go do a search for GMC, Motorhomes, Coaches, on the internet, then =

I'm more inclined to the GMCmhome.net or GMCMH.net, but I can live with
GMC.net. (And I'm one of those 23 Ft that would definitely be slighted
by 260Net, sounds more like a Sunoco site)

Motors Corporation. How about "GMCMHnet"

The more I think about it the better I like GMCnet

It's short and simple, GMC truckers will quickly realize the site or list is
not for GMC trucks.

I understand all the comments, but short and simple is I believe the
purpose, otherwise
we already have gmcmotorhome.com. Then what's the point. If GMC.com were
available
(it's not) I would vote for that.

I have always believed in the K.I.S.S. principle.

My 2.5 cents worth

Heehee, me too!

Maybe I should restate the general idea behind a new name. Basically,
it would be an acronym we could use amoung ourselves. Instead of
saying, "I heard about it on the GMC Motorhome Mailing List", you could
say, "I heard about it on GMCnet"(note there is no "dot" between "GMC"
and "net"). Also, it would give the list a bit of its own identity.

In the spirit of compromise. How about:

GMCnet - GMC Motorhome EMail List

for the "official" name. I'm planning a logo for the web page.
Something like "GMCnet" in 50pt type with the subscript "GMC MOTORHOME
EMAIL LIST" in 12pt type underneath(No plans for patches, t-shirts or
baseball caps at the present time). Might try to work the logo
into the silhouette of a GMC coach(260 of course - apologies to you 230
drivers).

Patrick:

Why not shorten it to GMC Motorhomes or leave of the "s" at the end if
you want?

As I see it, that's about as cryptic as you can get and still be
descriptive enough to get the point across for those who are uninitiated
to it.
