I just made a phone deal on a '76 or '77 Model 260. It has an interior
by Avion. Twin beds and dry bath. My insurance agent told me that one of
his company's questions will be what the price of the coach was when
delivered new. Anybody in e-land have the answer? Also, did these
coaches get marketed thru Avion or dis they go back to GMC dealers?
Thanks in advance for your input. Skip Newhouse

Good pitch. Who & where are Alexander & Alexander? What about my questions on
the original price of an Avion?

You say a "Model 260". If I'm not mistaken, use of that designation
(which equates to 26 feet) was limited to the early years of the GMC
production. I know the 73's had that labeling on each side of the coach
just below the driver and passenger windows. In addition, the coaches
had more descriptive names (e. g. Canyon Lands, Glacier, Sequoia, etc.)
to designate among various models. These names are normally indicative
of the interior and exterior color schemes and combinations.

I'm told that the Avion was only outfitted as a 1975 model. The factory
was located in Benton Harbor MI and is now owned by Fleetwood.

As to price, call or go to your local credit union/bank and ask to look
at their NADA RV Appraisal Guide. Although the 74-73 models are no
longer listed, prices for the reaming years models are though.
