New Belts?

New timing chain installed and radiator back from the shop (one small pin hole repaired). Everything is starting to go back together. I found a set
of new belts in the coach and because I plan on replacing the belts that I took off I am wondering if I should get a brand new set and just keep these
around in case of a failure or use them and buy a new set to carry along when we start to travel. Either way I will have an extra set but if there is
a chance that they age out like tires I would put the new ones on and keep these for ICE. If on the other hand they don't age out when stored just
use them and get a new set when we start to use the coach to travel. Could still be a spell before it is ready to travel.

Thanks for any opinions on this.

Keep just the Alt belt as that is the most important.
Just in case keep the part # of all the belts.
A belt does not stretch , just wears into the pulls and loosen up.
I’m sure someone that thinks they know more will say.

My opinion ... Buy and install new belts. Keep the older ones for emergencies. Make sure you get 7/16"(11mm) or 1/2" belts. Check the new ones with
a 10 mm. open end wrench. If it will go across the width of the belt, the belt is too thin.

Since you have already removed the belts, it makes much more sense to replace them with the new ones and checking the fit of them while labeling the
old ones and carry them for ICE. Costs nothing in weight or storage space and could save the day if you're prepared 8)

I broke a belt one Sunday night about 10 PM in traffic in Louisville headed north. Because I have a double alternator/P.S/water pump belt,I as able
to pull to the side of the expressway open the hatch and remove the broken one without tools. I continued on for a couple of hours and parked for the
night. In the morning when the engien was cool I installed a spare I carried and drove a couple of hundred miles on home.

The point is I did not have to go looking for a new belt on a late Sunday night or the next morning. Belts are cheap if you get them someplace like
Vbelt Supply. So if it were me I would also order some new spares.

Keep in mind the Olds engine unlike the Chevy has the main belt for air
conditioning .
Maybe best to keep the wI’ll run the eAyer pump
A/c belt
