Hi all,

My wife and I just got a new to us GMC motorhome. We have been looking for over a year all over USA, and found one 10 miles away that was in good shape for the price.

The unit has a long service record and receipts starting in 1988. Lots of work done. I also have the original 1978 invoice provided to the Superior Pontiac GMC dealer in Gretna Louisiana. The list price was $42,550 bucks in April of 1978, wow, pricey.

We are excited to have another 70's collectable in our stable. We love the style and look of 70's stuff. Hope to see you on the road.

I will have lots of questions, specifically who in Austin Texas area works on these units? I plan on doing a lot of the easy stuff, but will want help with brakes and engine work.

Best Regards,
Paul

Welcome to the group you two!! You may want to plan a trip to the New Orleans area next spring. The GMC Motorhomes International group will be holding a convention in Patterson LA, April 22-28.

A good time and a place to learn a lot.

Also get a hold of the Texas Group. I think they call them selves the "Classics". Another great group of people.

Great to have you here!

I did sign up for the Classic's group. We will look into a trip to LA for the rally.

My first task is to get the coach safe and reliable. Who in the Austin Area is a good inspector (bad news giver) for these 12,000 pound beasts?

Welcome Paul!

April '78 invoice is pretty late in the game, by then they were pretty much throwing every available option in them to use up the parts! Looking forward to see pictures.

Billy Massey aka Bdub, is in central TX and although he is not a repairman he is a great guy to inspect and point out issues.
