This seems to be another of those "quiet" bills that go through Congress
and come back to bite us later. You may wish to reply or pay higher phone
bills in the future.

Congress will be voting in less than two weeks. CNN stated that the
Government would, in two weeks time, decide to allow or not allow a
charge to your phone bill equal to a Long Distance call EACH time you access
the
Internet.

If you choose, visit the address above and fill out the necessary form!

If EACH one of us, forward this message on to others in a hurry, we may
be able to prevent this injustice from happening!

This appears to be a repeat of an often-forwarded message that periodically
makes the rounds.

1. according to the CNN web site, there was no such story this year
2. when you get a call to respond to congress in this fashion, look for a
bill number, title and sponsor. Without this information the Washington
staffers have no way to inform your representative of your position on the
bill. Keep in mind that what we see as a single bill in generic reporting
may very well be several alternatives with specific or technical differences.
3. if you have questions about this type of pending legislation regarding
telecommunications, you can get verification from your state public utility
commission and the FCC.
