Need used Hammond vent motor.

Does anyone have a removed OEM roof vent they want to part with? I need the motor only. I have three here that I have taken apart trying to get
enough parts to make one good one. All three have the same problem. Water got into them and rusted the inside badly. Then they over heated and
melted the winding insulation. I had one of these "fixed" and lubed the bearings. I installed it and it ran for about 15 seconds before going up in
smoke.

These ought to be available from people installing MAXX vent or Fantastic vent upgrades if they have not thrown them away already.

I should note here. If you ever have one of these out drill a little hole in the lowest part of the case with the smallest drill bit that you have.
This will allow any accumulated moisture to weep out and prevent this problem from happening in the future.

When I get one of these running again that is what I plan to do to it.

All three vent covers were badly cracked on this coach. I mean 1" wide cracks at the perimeter with at least 3 cracks per cover. This coach is a
1978 and it has a Hammond vent in the bath also. I fiber glassed two of the covers because replacements are unobtainable. The third was
unrepairable. The problem I am finding is the motors also got water in them and are internally rusted in the lower bearing and brush area. One
motor runs OK and and one runs slow. I haven't taken them apart. Right now I'm working on the 3rd which is DOA.

If you have a spare I'll take it to replace the slow one. I know it is going to be full of rust when I take it apart.

I'll PM you my address and I'll take it if you find it. This coach has been parked for 19 years supposedly inside but there is some water damage to
the headliner so it got wet sometime.

Well I'm back with my original request. I have two of these that are not repairable due to internal rust and melted windings.

I had two generous GMCers send me replacement motors, but they did not work. One was the wrong style motor and could not be mounted. The other one
came out of a Royale and rotates backward. It is not easily reversable with out major surgery and I would probably destroy the motor. (Died in
surgery)

So I am back looking for anyone that might have a motor out of a used OEM Hammond roof vent. I had a pair of them that I gave away a few years back.
Now I wish I would have kept one of them.

I also ordered a new one off of the Internet only to find out it was 1" too tall and hit the top cover.

If anyone has a removed / used one I sure could use it.

it runs fine.

I have fan blades. What I need are good motors. The ones I have taken apart have been loaded with rust and usually have shorted windings. I assume
this happens from people having cracked covers or maybe from leaving them open in the rain. I know on the ones I get going I will drill a little
weep hole in the lowest part of the motor before reinstalling. This way if they ever get water in the motor again it will have a way put.

This particular coach is a 1978 and has the bath module designed for a 14x14 Hammond vent. It is not like mine and earlier models that have 6" or so
round vent. I smoked one motor trying to repair it and I have an second one in the front vent position that is running slow I have not touched the
front one because I am afraid of what I will find and maybe smoke it too.

Someone else asked in another posting if the Hammond Vent is the one with the two handles. The answer is YES.

I also had two spare motors that I gave away to someone in the past. I never dreamed, at the time, that I would need them myself.
