Hi Guys,

The Eagle has landed. That is to say my folks are safely back home in
Alabama. The airbag was damaged. Not sure how, haven,t seen it yet. They
rented a car in Gainesville and drove down to Golby's in Orlando Saturday.
Golby met them Saturday and sold them an airbag which they installed and hit
the road north about 7 pm . This net really gives you a good feeling when you
need info quickly and it flows. There are some really nice people here.

Relax , I'm not in trouble again . This is a follow up to last
weekends "NEED HELP" emergency. I went over to Dad's house Monday and
looked at the failed air bag. Some how the bag had not centered on the
cones and was shifted so far to one end that the cone no longer
protruded from the bag on one end. The damaged bag still had the cone
up inside it and the rubber inside diameter was sufficiently smaller
than the big end of the cone not to let it come back out. It took
considerable effort to extract the cone from the bag. It is my position
that this shifting to one end could only have happened in a deflated
state because of the natural tendency of the cones to self center the
bag . Dad contends that the bag was fully inflated and centered evenly
between the two cones when he left home. The bag had to be in the
shifted state for the tire to wear the hole as it did. It appears that
he must have been driving with a deflated air bag to me but deflating
one bag on my unit causes a considerable tilt that would have been hard
for the driver to miss. Dad says he is sure it wasn't tilted that
much. I am completely baffled and would appreciate feedback from anyone
who has seen or heard of such an event.
We sure would like to understand what happened in order to prevent any
future occurrence .

Happy Trails

PS -- this was the maiden voyage for the failed air bag. After initial
installation be had to reposition this bag on the cones (rotated the bag
and reinflated). Examining the bag now doesn't reveal any obvious
defects .

I can tell you from my experience that when one side of the coach is
dramatically lower than the other the old girl will wallow and the driver
couldn't help notice something is wrong.
