My husband has finally gotten around to working on the motorhome, and =
now he cant find the information he needs. He remembers reading about =
how to set the height of the front-end from the ground to a slot in the =
frame. We have searched and now cannot find the information about the =
measurements. Does anyone know this or remember where the article is =
about it?? Also need to know how much air is the minimum for the air =
bags. We have only made one trip in our motorhome, and he wants to =
check out the underside before we go anywhere else. There is some slack =
in the steering, ( and the steering leaks fluid). Also he wants to =
replace transmission lines and hoses, you know the preventive =
maintenance...

Would appreciate any help .....

TIA

You should note that front height is not indicative of correct torsion bar
adjustment. The load on the front tires is more important. See GMC
International newsletter Fall 1997 page 61-4. And another thing do not
adjust the height only using the adjustment bolt, you will strip it.

>The Owners Manual that came with the coach says the front slot, measured from
>the top, should be 13 and one eighth inches plus or minus one fourth inch.
>This slot is located 24 and three eights inche back from the center of the
>front axel. The back slot should be eleven and eleven sixteenths inches
>measured from the top of slot, plus or minus one fourth inch. Your air bag
>pressure will adjust the rear heigth. You must adjust the front with the
>torsion bars
