Need AC/Hearter Blower for 1977 Coca-Cola

When I start the AC blower on the Coca-Cola, The motor makes a loud 'roar'
like the bearings are shot. I want to replace the blower/motor and the dash
control.

Anyone have a good blower/motor and switch? Are they available from a
dealer?

You can get the fan motor from many manufacturers. GM used the same one on
lots of models.

I put in a genuine AC/Delco product, and it always made noise, vibrated when
you put your hand on the motor, etc. It then burnt out when on the high
setting about three weeks ago, sending smoke and fumes through the vents.

We were in Sandusky, OH, and it just about scared us all to death. Thought
we had a total electrical fire going on.
It looked like the keystone cops as we 'abandoned ship' with fire
extinguishers in hand.

Still seeking a high quality part, I found that the new AC/Delco model comes
complete with a new fan cage, but costs close to $65!

I went with the Siemens motor, part number PM102/SL1587 instead for half the
money.

Siemens is a well known german company that has gotten in the US parts
business (many say to support MB's Alabama plant). Looked like a quality
unit, and it is much quieter than the GM part it replaced.
