My Exciting Week+

Yes, there will be pictures. Some of Bean Station, though we'll reserve
different ones to send to Stick Miller for the Dixielanders newsletter. And
some of the project. But reality bites: I'm leaving for Albany in 12 hours
to teach a workshop.

Ken, my frustration is not with Gmail, but the Gmail app on the iphone. I
still can't really tell what went out and what didn't.

Ken,
No steering wheel binding to report during the 220 miles to my son's driveway near Lousiville. Toward the end of the week, I will complete the 600+
mile trip home after a stop at the Air Force museum in Dayton. I feel good that the steering wheel binding will be history.

Thanks again for recommending and running to the parts store to get that tub of Synpower grease for me.

Coop Roller Cam 455, Howell TBI + EBL, 3.42 FD, Quadra Bag, Macerator, Manny Tranny etc.

I picked Manny up at the Atlanta airport and took him down to the Hendersons where among others my transmission rested. Stopped in Zebulon to get
some real gas, and since it was 91 octane I figured it was time to unfoul the sparkplugs and blow the accumulated soot out of the mufflers on the
ratrod, so I got it going in a straight line and stood on it to about 5500 in 2nd. And soon as I shifted and cruised sensibly on down the highway the
comment came from the right seat, "SHOWOFF!"
Guilty.

Hey, I forgot to mention that Manny arrived by Rat Rod with Johnny --
scared stiff & white as a sheet! Except for his heat-reddened feet. :-)

I think he bribed George to come back after Bean Station and give him a
ride back to ATL -- despite Johnny's generous offer to come ferry him
there. :-)

Aw c'mon, a simple little refrigerator white (which is cracking) 1988 Ranger just like your graddaddy hauled his lawn mower around in:

I did pick up a pair of wheels for the front and retired the one you see to spare status... so the wheels match now. Pay no attention to the wizard
behind... uh, the decals someone stuck in the back window.
And besides, I offered to come get him in the MouseToad, complete with air conditioning and a radio.

Johnny -

I looked through the photos from the URL you provided and found your old 23 footer... what kind of awning was on that ??

Great reports, Rick and Ken. I am envious of Bean Station and wish we had a similar event/rally here in the Southwest.

I think it was a Zip Dee awning - the pieces are in my overgrown junk pile way out back. It departed the coach one night in a thunderstorm before I
could get a pair of pants on to go out and save it. Lesson: Retract your awning before you go to bed.
The nice thing about that one was, the down legs folded into the awning case, no need for curved ones.
