I have used a Flomaster heat shield ever since I first designed my rear muffler setup. You can check with Jim Kanomata at Applied GMC. Advance Auto, Jegs, Summit, Amazon and many others also sell them.

This heat shield clamps onto the muffler and maintains an air space above the muffler as well as shielding the floor from excessive heat.

You can find them at the men's mall too, on many late model vehicles, but they probably won't be clamped on. Probably spot welded. They were on
several pickups, and the sport utility vehicles where everything is jammed as close together as they can get it. Take your sawzall and just get the
whole muffler unless they already have them in a pile. One yard near here had all the exhaust system scrappage in a pile after they pirated the cats.

My 26' has a dual inlet single muffler and a y pipe from the headers. It will shortly have a shield over the muffler.

I don't even see 20 scoots. I haven't decided whether the shield will be hooked to the muffler with clamps or bolted to the floor. Either way with
standoffs to put it midway of the available space. Big cookie tins are like a dollar at Ollie's Bargain Outlet. standoffs and either bolts or clamps
can't run to very much money. Even if they do, cheaper than extinguishing the fire and fixing the coach.

Just an aside on the effectiveness of the shield's, the mechanical code permits the distance from combustibles to be reduced to half the non shielded
distance when using properly installed shield's. They really are an efficient method to protect against a catastrophic event.

A good source for custom shaped shields is a company that makes duct work
for furnaces and a/c equipment. We have a place in Salem called Salem
Heating and Sheet Metal. I have used them several times for hot rod heat
shields. They have brakes and rollers and English wheels for forming just
what I need.
Kerry Pinkerton should be able to create anything you could imagine as
well.

Our 3" mandrel bent exhaust system with one 3" muffler come with the shield
and due to demand, we sell the shield with band clamps.
Lot of the people with duel mufflers are using them as it keeps the floor
cooler.
We used Emory Stora's design on our rear muffler kit.
