Hi all,
Newbies here. Recently purchased our coach and making a few small improvements. We want to put a TV mount on the wall between the two windows
above the sink/sofa in our 76 Birchaven. How wide and how thick is the aluminum frame channel? Thanks in advance for your help.

You can lift the panel around the windows so you can see exactly where to
screw-in

Jim's suggestion is a good one.

The bunk beds are mounted in a similar way and an excellent example of some
of the challenges you may find with securing to that frame. Keep your
screws less than an inch and I doubt you will have any issue with depth,
but the aluminum is relatively thin. Personally, i would use a nutsert, or
large door trim clip (

vs drill/screw directly. The tension and bounce may lead to fatigue on the
holes, and eventual loosening of the mounts.

One last point - I'm not sure if you plan on an arm type mount. We found
traditional TV mounts to bounce way more than we liked while in motion.
They were never designed for a jostling vehicle. It was annoying to watch
while driving. I eventually came up with a small ratchet strap solution
that holds it in place (while driving). You may wish to consider the same.

I typed " It was annoying to watch while driving."

I'd like to clarify... "It is annoying for the viewing PASSENGERS"

=)

Place a segment of rubber hose around the drill bit to prevent over
drilling once you have penetrated the first wall of aluminum.
