My philosophy is the ones that are save-able as original should be kept that way as much as possible. This preserves the time stamp feel of the era.
Modern improvements (wheels, smart converter, combiner) help modernize without being destructive. Basket cases and abandoned projects are best for
total modernization treatment. To quote a very wealthy friend in a different end of the GM muscle car hobby "The Federal govt prints brand new money
every day. You can always get more money, but GM will never make more of these"

Some Idiot just paid $1,000,495.00 for a COPO big block 1969 Camaro at
Barrett-Jackson at Scottsdale. Complete rotisserie restoration. All numbers
matching car. Bright rally Red. Can't believe it.
A 1967 Z-28 302 cubic inch 4 speed COPO car with special highrise
intake and factory headers, all numbers matching car went for over One
million Dollars a couple of years ago, too. Wowza. Junked one of those for
the engine and 4 speed when we were racing, many years ago. Woulda',
Coulda', Shoulda! Hindsight is always 20/20.

Remember, of the ten 1970 hemi 'cuda convertibles built, five survived and a local cornered the market on them. I believe he sold several a few years
back when he auctioned off severl millions of dollars of his collection.

Yeah, I've been kicking myself for years over selling my '68 Charger RT. It wasn't a hemi car, but it was a nice well optioned car and would be worth
a small fortune today.
