Gary Berry,
I bought my windshields two years ago at Eugene, Oregon. That's
exactly 1K miles away from San Diego one way. I remember because I
clocked it and it was to the mile from my house to Duncan Glass
Systems. It was still worth it because I saved sales taxes and shipping
and I made a mini vacation out of it to justify the trip. I did the
trip in a Dodge Caravan and packed the glass carefully. Duncan did this
for me at no added cost.
About a year ago, they opened another Duncan Glass Systems in Las
Vegas, only 100 miles from Laughlin and not far out of your way. Sounds
like a good opportunity to have some fun too. You can reach their Las
Vegas store at (877) 657-0011 (Toll Free). Sounds like your best bet to
me. Viracon windshields are
also a great product and made in USA unlike those made in Finland that
you need a mallot and crowbar to install. If you go to Vegas, there are
several great RV parks including Circus Circus right on the Strip. Call
ahead to make sure they have your glass in stock.
