Now for the GMC part, hauled it in a
52 Chevy which had a dual exhaust cast iron, GM stamped, manifold
attached
to twin exhausts. One smitty glass pack was enough to wake the world.
Geeeze.........it must be nostalgia night on the GMC net. My very first
car was a '53 BelAir Hdtp, Corvette dual exhaust manifolds w/twin 3'
Porters and an Edmunds aluminum intake w/2 holley 2bbls. The hood was
nosed, rounded, '54 Corvette grill, welded & smoothed bumpers, '56 Buick
taillights frenched in and no chrome on the entire body. Took 1st place
in one of the early Gopher State Timing Ass. rod & custom shows in
Mpls. ( I still have some photos too!) Now it's a GMC that's 25+ years
old, a bride that's, oops, can't go there, and zero to 60 by Tuesday.
Times have changed but thanks for jarring loose the cobwebs.
