I pulled the 4 screws out of the face plate of the monitor panel by the
entry door. I discovered a red filter over a light bulb and just behind a
small square hole in the lower left side of the face plate. The parts list
at 28.040 item 9, says it is a tell tail light filter. What does this light
tell you when it is on? I have never seen it on. The bulb may be burned
out but I would like to know what that light is trying to tell me if it
comes on. I can not find it in the wiring diagrams.

My red light comes on when i press the rocker switch to the right. I always
assumed it simply told me that I was pressing the switch. Kinda of dumb????

according to these pages. that is an indicator light to show that the
panel is on. ( and using power, therefore a reminder)
That bulb should be a # 194 wedge base bulb. The same bulb that is listed
in the spec sheets for the Speedometer lighting.
The panel itself does not show in the wiring drawings, since its a
separate assembly.

It should light in both settings, center off

Left, Momentery, by itself, with gauges
Right, on, all guages and gauge lighting on...

Thanks to all for the quick answer to my question. It seems to be a
redundant light as when I push my switch to the right there are lights in
each of the gages that come on. That tells me that the panel is in the on
position.
