I've been on this list for a couple of weeks, and have gleaned some
excellent information from it. I joined because I want to buy one of
these fine vehicles, and hoped that this would be a good way to educated
myself before buying. I have not been disappointed.
GMCs were apparently produced from 73-78. I suspect there were upgrades
during that period of time, such as suspension changes that make certain
years more desirable. Is there a FAQ that delineates the differences
between model years?
I'm in California, so the '73 would not be subject to smog tests. This
makes engine improvements such as fuel injection easier, since you don't
have to go through the time and expense of taking it to a smog referee,
even though the engine will pollute less.
