Remember that just cause it says so on the side of the car doen't
necessarily
mean that it was in the oil pan.

If I remember correctly in some classes of racing synthetic oil is not
permitted.

Is synthetic motor oil permitted by Nascar?

Most if not all Winston Cup cars run synthetics so it is possible and
probable.
