I just posted a note to friends across the country on a K-Mart sale on Mobil
1 oil and filters. It has now come to my attention, via our group, that
there are great differences in the pricing of your products around the
country. Locally, Mobil 1 was on sale at $3.79 per quart, a 20 cents
savings. Others have posted that they are purchasing Mobil 1 at prices
ranging from $2.39 to $4.03 per quart.
Our group espouses the use of Mobil 1 products, all of them, in our
vehicles. It is a travesty to be able to get a friend in another part of
the country to buy me a case, include shipping, and get it to me at a lower
cost than if I go to a local K-Mart or AutoZone.
We believe in these products. We have checked them against all your
competitor's products and feel they are the best, period. But, an almost
$2.00 spread in the retail price of a quart of oil is a bit much.
I would appreciate hearing back from you concerning this pricing problem of
your products. If the stores are gouging we consumers, then I would like to
know. My friends and I can deal with the stores by withholding our $'s and
purchase your products via friends on the net where the pricing is more
reasonable.
